Acceptable Use Policy

LocalToLink is an internet-facing infrastructure service. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines prohibited uses and our enforcement approach.

1. Prohibited Uses

You may not use LocalToLink to:

• Phishing or credential theft
• Malware distribution
• Botnet or command-and-control (C2) infrastructure
• Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging
• Fraud or financial scams
• DDoS attacks or other network abuse
• Illegal content of any kind
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Any other prohibited or abusive activity

2. Enforcement Ladder

Violations are handled through escalating actions:

1. Warning — for minor or first-time violations
2. Suspend — tunnel temporarily disabled pending review
3. Terminate — tunnel permanently closed
4. Block — IP address or range blocked from creating new tunnels
5. Report — referral to law enforcement or relevant authorities where required by law

3. CSAM Reporting

Upon obtaining actual knowledge of apparent child sexual abuse material, we will report to the NCMEC CyberTipline as soon as reasonably possible, in compliance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Report contents are preserved for at least one year as required by the REPORT Act.

4. Abuse Detection

We monitor behavioral and infrastructure signals including tunnel creation frequency, connection patterns, traffic volume, IP reputation, and abuse reports. We do not rely primarily on keyword scanning.

5. Reporting Violations

To report suspicious content, use our abuse report form or email [email protected]. Include the tunnel URL and a description of the violation.

6. DMCA Takedowns

Copyright infringement reports should be sent to [email protected] with the information required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

7. No Appeal Guarantee

We reserve the right to take immediate action without prior notice for severe violations. Decisions regarding enforcement are at our sole discretion.
